My paint is not adhering, is it from my mold release?Updated 23 days ago
The use of mold releases in your mold can transfer to your cast piece and can interfere with the paint adhesion. The best thing you can do is to clean the part once demolded using very warm soapy (Dawn or Cascade Gel) and then clean with Rubbing Alcohol and allow to dry. A primer coat painted on prior to air brushing or detailed painting helps adhesion as well. The Amazing Mold Release can usually be painted over if used as a mold release when used in moderation and not sprayed heavily. Paint adhesion is also best if applied soon after pouring while the resin is still curing. Waiting days, weeks, or even months, may require abraiding the surface, cleaning with a mild solvent, and thoroughly drying before painting.
