Can the work time and cure time be extended of my epoxy or urethane casting resin?Updated 23 days ago
Yes. Epoxies and urethanes are exothermic meaning they generate heat when they cure. The shorter the work time and faster the cure time, typcially the hotter or more heat they will generate. To extend the working time you can chill the A side, B side or both to slow the exothermic process which ultimately slows the cure cycle. Please note when you cool the resins, the viscosity will increase which may make avoiding air entrapment more likely. One tip is to warm your mold prior to casting. This will help the resin cure more closely to the original cure schedule while giving your more time to mix, add color, and pour.
