Can I remove silicone and/or Alumilite from a work surface?Updated 23 days ago
Alumilite has very good adhesion qualities and wants to bond to anything it comes in contact with even, when you don't want it to. It is best to try and clean liquid resin spills while they are still in the liquid form prior to them curing. The best option for cleaning is Amazing Resin Remover. If not available, use a paper towel or a rag very quickly using rubbing alcohol or any other mild solvent. Once it is cured it is very difficult to remove. Silicone, on the other hand, bonds to nothing but another silicone. As long as the silicone is on a non-porous surface, we'd recommend letting it cure, and then simply peel it off and dispose once it cures. Always, make sure to work in a designated work area and avoid getting resins or silicones into porous materials such as clothes, carpet, and paper as they will not come out.
