Are Alumulite's epoxies UV Stable (Amazing Clear Cast, Alumilite Clear Cast PLUS, Amazing Deep Pour, etc)?Updated 23 days ago
All epoxies, no matter the make or the brand, will yellow over time. Some formulations are formulated with UV absorbers and built-in UV resistance that helps those epoxies retain their original color longer (such as Amazing Clear Cast Plus). But in the end, they will all turn color. To preserve the natural color of your castings or coating, it is best to store the pieces always from direct UV light such as the sun. While epoxies do yellow in direct sunlight and are not recommended for outdoor applications unless specified, they are great for indoor coating applications. The big advantage of Alumilite epoxies is that they are designed for specific applications that customize viscosity and cure time, which allows you to coat or cast large items such as bar tops and river tables as well as gives the air time to release out of the material before curing.
